An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx, for their 2016 collection, tagged Hybrid, as it was in many senses other than the design collective featured an avant-garde design and real, wearable fashion, of masculine structure and feminine elegance, of sophistication and juvenile aggression.

In collaboration with Erdem’s, the all-eveningwear collection consisted of femininity, craftsmanship and detail. With the exception of a few trouser suits – a houndstooth Chanel-y style and other wool versions heavily embroidered – this was a line-up of exquisite gowns. From Edwardian bias cut velvet devore styles with frilled bibs and cuffs, to gold crochet designs and others with prim white doily collars, everything hit midi length or longer, but there were enough slits, transparency and glimpses of skin that made it tantalising. An all-silver sequin fishtail skirted number, complete with matching cape, and a dancing lamé fringed ensemble.

OSMAN presented its spring/summer 2016 collection at the London Fashion Week. The new looks were bold both in colour and design with an intricately designed motif of a tree on several items of clothing, the design exemplified by the looming stark tree at the start of the catwalk.

Peter Pilotto

Peter Pilotto presented a chic autumn/winter 2016 collection at Queen Elizabeth II Centre for London Fashion Week. The new looks were delicate, with metallic tones and intricate designs. Here are our images from the show.
