Moschino’s dry cleaning bag dress is $700 and ‘totally wearable’

What you see in the image below is a transparent bag holding a piece of clothing that has just been dry cleaned, right?

But what if the transparent, hideous, seemingly bootless bag is the actual fashion item you should be putting your money on this season?

Italian luxury fashion brand, Moschino wants you to think that fashion should not be limiting. Why make the dry cleaning bag go to waste when you can actually wear it?

The dry cleaning bag dress made its debut appearance in February 2017 at the Milan Fashion Week. It was lined up as part of Moschino’s creative director, Jeremy Scott’s Fall/Winter 17 collection.

The collection was inspired by everything trash and litter, and this dry cleaning bag dress which has not-so-aptly being described as a “cape sheer overlay dress” was part of it.

Fashion internet was sent into overdrive on Tuesday when the dress was found on the online boutique of London-based fashion company, Browns Fashion to be selling at over $800. Then the caveat beneath the description on the site sort of escalated things. It reads, “*Please note that the slip is not included.”

So you’re basically purchasing a transparent bag made out of polyester with conflicting printed text. One that’s supposed to speak to your heart, “We ❤️ Our Customers” and the other that leaves you feeling like an inanimate item, “Free pickup and delivery”.

So would you, fashionista be coughing up nearly N300,000 for this sassy number? Before you make that decision though, you may need to step out into the sun first. If you know, you know!
