We all reach that point where we get sick and tired of every single thing we have in our wardrobes, and start wearing the same five things every week.
When people start to drop hints like “oh this shirt again!”, you know it’s time to update your wardrobe. But most times, between food shopping and the endless bills we have to pay, there is just not much left to spend on new clothes.
Check out how to update your wardrobe without actually buying any new clothes.
- Swap with friends.
There’s this shirt of yours your friend has been eyeing forever and there are these pair of jeans she has that you’ve always wanted to get. So swap clothes with her. By the time you do this with three or four of your friends, you’ll have the beginnings of a new wardrobe.
- Swipe your boyfriend’s shirts.
Or your brother’s or your dad’s, whoever it is, you can always get off with swiping clothes from these three people. Swiping clothes from your mum, sister or BFF never works out because they will always get back at you.
- Take a trip to the tailor’s.
All those clothes at the back of your wardrobe, you used to love but have stopped wearing because of one wardrobe malfunction or the other, take a day out to take everything to the tailor’s. For things like popped buttons, and ripped seams, get yourself a little sewing kit to handle those.
- Try out DIYs.
Revamp old clothes you’ve grown tired off with easy DIYs. Distress your jeans or rip your old t-shirts-Kanye has made it
- Clean out your closet.
There are gems at the back of your wardrobe you either bought ages ago and forgot about, or clothes your mum bought for you that were not cool then, but are probably back in trend now, like boyfriend jeans.
